The Flash Episode 3×08 Title, Synopsis, Stills & Promos
It’s Getting Cold in Here
In The Flash Season 3 Episode 7: Killer Frost, the geek driven Kevin Smith returns to direct his second episode. ‘Killer Frost’ is the last CW episode before we kick off the spectacular 4-night superhero crossover event next week. To say the least, it was probably one of the most important episodes of this season. Since it was known that Caitlin Snow would be part of the show, every geek driven fan has been wondering when she would finally turn into Killer Frost. During last season, the writers had a clever way to bring Killer Frost into the fold without losing Caitlin Snow. Since Barry caused a breach between Earth-1 and Earth-2, they were able to use Caitlin’s Earth-2 doppelganger as Killer Frost. A bit of a cheap way to bring the ice cold villain to the show, but also a great tease for the future. However, the future is now, as Flashpoint caused Caitlin to obtain her powers.
At the end of episode 6, the Swat Team is dead, Wally is in a cocoon, and Savitar has Barry. As Dr. Alchemy gets away, Savitar takes Barry for a beating all over Central City. He’s so fast, they show up in multiple places throughout Central City at the same time. Right before he’s about to kill The Flash, Cisco and Caitlin open a breach to their location. Caitlin uses her powers to freeze Savitar and save Barry. The God of Speed vibrates and takes off. As her mother stated, if she used her powers further, the effects could be irreversible. After saving Barry and seeing Wally in a cocoon, her Killer Frost persona surfaces. She goes on a rampage looking for Alchemy, thinking he can take away her powers. Able to locate one of his acolytes, she finds out Dr. Alchemy has the ability to help her, but won’t. She’s told Savitar has shown them the future and it includes her as a powerful villain.
How to Catch a Cold
Before she’s able to look for Dr. Alchemy, Cisco arrives to stop her. A battle ensues between Killer Frost and Vibe until The Flash arrives. After slipping from the iced ground, Caitlin starts freezing Barry with a kiss. Vibe is able to knock her out and place her in The Pipeline. During her rampage, she revealed Dante is dead because Barry created Flashpoint and reset the timeline. Not only do we have to worry about Caitlin becoming Killer Frost, it’s now possible Cisco could become Reverb instead of Vibe. After finding out Barry is the reason Dante is gone from this timeline, Cisco gives him the cold shoulder.
Dr. Alchemy’s Identity Revealed
Since Caitlin went on her Killer Frost trip and kidnapped Julian, Barry has to convince him not to reveal her as the culprit. In order to save her life, Julian blackmails Barry into quitting his position as a CSI. While lying in a hospital bed, Julian hears a voice calling for him. He’s frightened and scared as he runs out of the hospital only to run into Savitar. The evil speedster tells him, with the two of them working together, they can bring about his return. As Julian walks into his lab and unlocks a cabinet, we hear Savitar telling him to become his servant once more. At that moment, Julian Albert is revealed to be Dr. Alchemy as he pulls out the mask. It seems the rumors mentioned in a previous article were true. The infamous Draco Malfoy finally gets his hands on the Philosopher Stone.
With the rumors confirmed, Caitlin coming back from the brink of going full Killer Frost, and Wally now a speedster, we can look forward to a whole lot of heroes versus aliens! Also, I’m sure Diggle finds out how resetting the timeline from Flashpoint affected his life.
