Arrow Teasing The Question, Adds Talia Al Ghul + More

Arrow Season 5 Hitting It’s Mark With Great Start

With Thanksgiving done and the most anticipated 4-night epic superhero crossover less than a week away, we’re already a third of the way complete with the fifth season of Arrow. As the actors, producers and writers have promised, this season has gone back to it’s roots from the first two seasons. They’ve done away with all the complicated and unnecessary relationship issues. No more magical or mystical villains. We’ve received a more lethal Green Arrow with villains that suit his power and skill set. Some are slightly amped up, but nothing him or his team can’t handle. Speaking of which, we have a new gritty type of team. Most have anger or vendetta issues, while others are overly optimistic. Add in the flashbacks to his days in the Bratva and we have a more compelling and realistic show for Oliver and company. After you mix in his more serious cast with the other heroes in the crossover, you’ll have a very interesting and more hopeful start to the second third of the season. With knowing Artemis is a spy for Prometheus, let’s hope she can flip it around by carrying on some of that knowledge and hope from the other heroes.

Epic 4-Night Superhero Crossover/100th Episode

During the Invasion! crossover, Arrow will air it’s 100th episode as the second part of the three part event. According to his interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Marc Guggenheim promised fans the 100th episode will honor the previous 99 episodes and not get lost in the shuffle of the crossover. Instead, he suggested the show was written in a way to include or honor all the characters from the last 4+ seasons. In the stills and promos previously posted for Arrow Season 5 Episode 8: Invasion!, you can see the return of major characters like Robert and Moira Queen, Malcolm and Tommy Merlyn, Laurel Lance and Deathstroke. It seems the Dominators will have technology to keep the heroes occupied by implanting false memories or dreams. The synopsis is as follows:

Oliver (Stephen Amell) wakes up to a life where he never got on The Queen’s Gambit. Robert (guest star Jamey Sheridan) and Moira Queen (guest star Susanna Thompson) are alive and well. Laurel (guest star Katie Cassidy) is his loving fiancée and their wedding is imminent. Everything seems perfect, but Oliver starts to notice small imperfections that make him question this new reality. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and the recruits take on a new threat with help from The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist).

What’s Next for the Green Arrow?

After a week to digest The CW crossover event, we have new characters coming to Arrow and Star City. According to Variety, former The Walking Dead actor, Juliana Harkavy is joining the cast of Arrow as former Central City Detective Tina Boland. She will join the series on the back half of the season next year as the anti-vigilante detective.

“A detective formerly of Central City, Boland is brash yet tactful, tough, speaks her mind, and is not the easiest person to impress. She also has a problem with vigilantes like Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and his new team of recruits: Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), Artemis (Madison McLaughlin), Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and Ragman (Joe Dinicol).

In addition, The CW announced Stargate: SG1 actor, Lexa Doig, is joining the show as the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul and sister of Nyssa Al Ghul; Talia Al Ghul. She will be “worldly and cultured, an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.” She’ll have a story arch with her debut on the tenth episode. We knew she existed due to a previous episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow showing her younger self in the past. With Ra’s Al Ghul dead by the hands of Oliver, Nyssa Al Ghul saving the life of her father’s killer and having destroyed the Lazarus Pit, Talia’s presence in Star City could spell trouble for the Green Arrow and Nyssa.

Teasing The Question or More

On a Twitter post by Arrow EP Guggenheim, he shows a banner of an ad to develop in Hub City. As DC comic book fans know, Hub City is home to both The Question and Ted Kord aka The Blue Beetle. Since his company is already located in Star City, it’s possible the ad attracts Ted Kord to move Kord Industries to Hub City. If you look close enough, you can see the billboard ad is sponsored by WWB (World Wide Broadcasting), Hub City’s most popular radio station. In the comics, Vic Sage aka The Question, worked as an investigative reporter for Hub City’s news station KBEL. Since character adaptations aren’t spot on, it’s possible WWB serves as The Question’s cover instead of KBEL. Either way, let’s hope this banner turns into an appearance by either hero.
