Supergirl Episode 2×07 Title, Synopsis, Stills & Promos

Going Too Far for One’s Ideals

In last week’s episode of Supergirl, we were introduced to a long-time Superman foe; Parasite. The CW’s version of Parasite is an alien parasite who views humans as destroyers of their own planet. It believes it’s the only thing that can save the world from us. Just like CADMUS is taking it’s ideals too far in wanting all aliens gone or terminated, Parasite believes the same of humans. Like every story involving Parasite, Supergirl beats him by feeding it too much power. She’s able to trick Parasite into absorbing radioactive plutonium, causing him to explode. I wonder if this is the last we’ll see of him.

Heroes Are Made, Not Born

Throughout the last couple of episodes, Kara has been trying to ready Mon-El for a life of a hero. Unfortunately, his cowardice prevents him from believing he can stand up and fight for the greater good. Instead of using his powers for good, he uses them as muscle for a bookie to make money. Like a coward, he projects his own fears by claiming Kara Zor-El only loves the attention of being a hero. In her disappointment, she flies off. While Supergirl and Martian Manhunter recover from an encounter with Parasite, Alex finds Mon-El drinking his day away in the alien-friendly bar. Needing his help, she simply tells him she doesn’t believe in him and thinks of him as nothing but a coward. However, Kara believes he’s more and can be much more. Inspired, he takes to the street to confront Parasite. With the help of Guardian and Supergirl, they’re able to defeat the monster. At the end of the episode, we see CADMUS taser and kidnap him.

Meanwhile, James has been breathing down the neck of Winn to produce the suit he promised. His impatience is due to his inability to help Kara. Before Winn gives James the suit, he tells him there’s a cost to going down this path. James replies by saying if there’s a cost, he’ll pay it. As Mon-El is fighting Parasite, James shows up in his new suit and shield. He tells the Daxamite, he’s Guardian, while Winn is the ‘man in the van’. It seems like Guardian’s shield has some property allowing it to redirect kinetic energy when struck by Parasite. He’s able to hold off the alien until Supergirl arrives. As I previously predicted, his suit is lined with lead, so Supergirl can’t see his identity.

Next episode, we find Guardian accused of murder while CADMUS has captured Mon-El. In order to save Mon-El, Supergirl will have to fight a new threat from CADMUS, Cyborg Superman! Check out the synopsis below.

You can watch Supergirl Season 2 Episode 7: The Darkest Place Monday, November 21st 8/7c on The CW. Who do you think will be Cyborg Superman? I think it’s either Dean Cain or David Harewood playing the character. Do you think he’ll be a one and done villain or ongoing? What would you like to see out of the Cyborg Superman storylines?
