Supergirl Episode 2×06 Stills and Promos
In last week’s episode ‘Crossfire’, the theme seemed to be about going through missteps and facing fears to find one’s self. From Mon-El adapting to life on Earth to James Olsen attempting to become a vigilante, there were plenty of issues in their first attempts. Mike, Mon-El’s Earth alias, becomes an intern at CatCo. Unfortunately, he’s a bit under-informed of how daily life works. You see this with his inability to dress himself or inability to be discreet with his identity. Kara becomes frustrated after finding him in an office supply room half-way undressed with Miss Teschmacher in a compromising position.
Meanwhile, James’ attempts at becoming a vigilante gets him beaten and nearly killed on multiple occasions. Winn attempts to talk him out of getting killed, but James says he’s sick of being a sidekick, watching from behind a camera. We also find Alex confused on who she might actually be after having a couple of awkward conversations with Detective Maggie Sawyer. All the while, Cadmus is distributing alien weapons to a gang. They’re attempting to cause fear and mass hysteria regarding aliens and alien tech. In the end, courage in the face of fear is what overcomes the issues.
Kara overcomes her fears of Mon-El fitting in, by seeing he doesn’t have to be like her. Hopefully, this will lead Mon-El to one day going to the future and becoming a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Winn overcomes his fear of James becoming a vigilante, by having a change of heart in helping him. This will lead to the creation of Guardian’s suit and shield. After realizing people must find out what works for them, what they are suppose to become, she comes to terms with herself as someone who likes women. Her fear of what she is or how others would perceive her has held her back from happiness. You can see just how freeing it was when she admits to Maggie that she was right about her. We’ll get to see the results of overcoming those fears. in Supergirl Season 2 Episode 6: Changing.
