New Wonder Woman Trailer Released

Warner Bros. Studio has just released the second official trailer for Wonder Woman. The trailer starts off in the present as Diana Prince reminisces of her past. We see more of Themyscira and the Amazonians. Steve Trevor reveals his mission to end “the war to end all wars.” During a battle scene on Paradise Island, the trailer eludes to an Amazonian being killed by a bullet. If it’s someone close to her, it will explain her desire to aid Steve Trevor in ending World War I. In what is a deep cut from the origins of the demigoddess, we see her obtaining the armor and weapons, hopefully through her trials. We are then introduced to the two villains of the movie. Danny Huston’s character has been rumored to be the German General during WWI, Erich Ludendorff. However, it’s said he might be influenced by Ares, the God of War. In addition, we see more of Elena Anaya’s character. She’s rumored to play anyone from Circe to Dr. Cyber. I believe she’ll either be Baroness von Gunther, Doctor Poison or The Mask.

We then see Diana protecting Steve from being shot by three men in a small confined alleyway. The scene cuts to her speaking of the sacred duty for all of them to protect the world and walks out of the trenches into battle. It’s followed by numerous cut action scenes that are too awesome to describe. At the end of the sequence, we see Wonder Woman leaping up from an exploding building. In what seems to be one of the biggest Easter Eggs in the clip, we see her either blocking electricity or creating it with her bracelets. If you didn’t know, the Amazonian’s bracelet has the ability to block nearly any form of weapon or energy blast (i.e. against Doomsday’s heat vision). In addition, as a demigoddess and daughter of Zeus, she’s able to channel lightning through her bracelets. I’m hoping they make this part of her DCEU cannon, instead of saying she was created from clay. The trailer ends on a comedic note with Diana Prince trying on women clothing and asking Etta Candy, Steve Trevor’s secretary, how women fight in them. Etta quips, “we use our principles.”

Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
