Supergirl Episode 2×04 New Promo Teasers
Hail to the Amazonian Princess
In the last episode of Supergirl, ‘Welcome to Earth’, Lynda Carter made her return to superhero television as the President. What touched on the real world issues of acceptance, equality and prejudice, the episode addressed the xenophobia on Earth-CBS. Xenophobia, fear of aliens, has been noticeable throughout the first season due to Maxwell Lord. This season, with the introduction of Lena Luthor, we will have a Luthor’s point of view on the issue. Like today’s issues dealing with racism and prejudice, lines are blurred and twisted to fit one’s view. Such is the case with Lena’s plan to put a spotlight on aliens with her invention.
Meanwhile, President Marsdin’s championing alien amnesty places her in danger. After Mon-El’s escape and attempts on her life, he’s the primary suspect. Supergirl discovers he’s a Daxamite and immediately captures him. With the past conflict between Daxam and Krypton, Kara’s prejudice blinds her from the real perpetrator. A rogue fire-based alien has been the culprit, as she claims amnesty is a ruse for registration. After the villain’s capture, the President thanks Supergirl and hints to her ‘other’ jet. A play on words for her one-time role as Wonder Woman. They reveal the President isn’t what she seems while walking away. At the end, Martian Manhunter walks freely, as his true self, in a safe haven bar for aliens. After the bartender acted odd toward him, It’s revealed she’s M’gann M’orzz aka Miss Martian; last daughter of Mars. Next week will further the story of Miss Martian and introduce Earth-CBS’s Roulette.
