Gotham Episode 3×07 New Promos and Stills

When You Cross the Mad Hatter, Your Life Ends in Tatters

In last week’s episode ‘Follow the White Rabbit’, Jervis Tetch, the Mad Hatter, seeks his revenge upon James Gordon. The episode starts with a twisted game of a no-win situation. Gordon must decide who to save in 30 seconds while the other victims die. During the process of ramping up to his ultimate goal, Tetch kidnaps both Valerie Vale and Leslie Thompkins. After multiple tests/games, Gordon realizes the end game will involve him choosing who will die between Vale and Thompkins. Tetch escapes capture after shooting Vale in the stomach, as Gordon made his choice.

All the while, Penguin discovers his true feelings for his good friend, Edward Nygma. In what seems to be a twist on the characters comic book persona, Gotham’s Oswald Cobblepot is romantically interested in Nygma. Of course, villains will never have a happy ending. Toward the end of the episode, the writers introduced another love interest for Nygma. She’s just as fascinated with riddles as he and has a remarkable resemblance to Miss Kringle, whom he murdered. This will surely be what broke the camel’s back, as she will be a contentious point for all involved. Next week, we will see how the Mad Hatter continues his plot of revenge and new dynamic between Penguin and Nygma.
