Black Panther Adds Star War’s Forest Whitaker & More
Rogue One Star Forest Whitaker Joins Cast of Black Panther
Forest Whitaker will be coming back from a galaxy far far away after playing Saw Guerera in Rogue One this December. Whitaker will be heading to the great nation of Wakanda along with three others. The Academy Award-winner will play an elder-stateman named Zuri. In the comics, Zuri fought along side T’Chaka, the former King, as a loyal Wakandan warrior. After the death of T’Chaka, he became T’Challa’s loyal confidant, later sacrificing himself for the King/Black Panther.
The More the Merrier in Wakanda
Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba join Whitaker as new residents of Wakanda. Kaluuya is playing W’Kabi. In the comics, W’Kabi was Wakanda’s Chief of Security and second-in-command to T’Challa. Along with Zuri, W’Kabi sacraficed himself to save his King against Morlun. Kasumba will reprise her role as Ayo from Captain America: Civil War. Ayo is a member of the Dora Milaje, the King’s royal security and bodyguards. She told Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow to “move…or you will be moved.” As previously posted, Duke is playing M’Baku, known as Man-Ape in the comics.
