Go Go Power Rangers Pics, Trailer and Website!
New York Comic Con Has Explosion of Power Rangers
When Lionsgate announced a new Power Rangers movie was in development, I didn’t give it much thought. After the studio released the teaser photos and posters, I didn’t care. Since the explosion of the Power Rangers media blitz at New York Comic Con, I can’t be more excited for it’s release on March 24, 2017. It’s amazing what a good marketing team can do for a franchise.
During the week of NYCC, Lionsgate released numerous photos, stills, and posters. They included movie stills of the teenagers, motion posters of the Rangers and a photo of the Red Ranger’s Power Sword. If those didn’t peak your interest, the first teaser trailer has every geek driven fan going crazy in anticipation. It leaves behind all the childishness of the 90’s television series, bringing forth a more mature teenage angst movie with a serious tone. The trailer feels as though Josh Trank and John Hughes got together for a ‘Chronicle’ meets ‘The Breakfast Club’ mashup.
Official Power Rangers Movie Website Launches
On top of the surge of marketing at NYCC, Lionsgate and Saban launched the official website for the movie. It has some cool features, like a link to the Angel Grove High School student newspaper site. In addition, you’ll find articles and movie stills of all five teenagers. Each article is a type of bio or insight into each character. Back on the main website, you can watch the trailer, see the posters and find a synopsis.
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it is too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
